
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team between 2018 and 2020 with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her professional debut at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win its league championship. Morgan was 22 years old at the time, and was the youngest member of the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the match-winning goal the 123rd minute in the semi-final match against Canada. Her 2012 ended with 21 goals, 28 goals, and 28 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
