Despacito the song of Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi together with Daddy Yankee was released in the year 2017. It was the top streaming music of that moment within just six months. In 2017, the single Despacito which was a mix of reggaeton and pop, not only brought new interest to reggaeton but also increased interest in Latin music. The Billboard Top 100 in 2015 had two songs that were mostly Spanish languages, while the year in 2016 there were four. During the height of Despacito's popularity, however 19 predominantly Spanish songs made it to the top 100, and in 2020 there were 41 such songs. In the wake of Justin Bieber's dual remix of Despacito (2017) famous artists soon began collaborating with reggaeton performers including Drake along with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna together with Maluma in Medellin (2019). From the beginning of 2020, a few reggaeton artists felt dissatisfied with the direction it was moving towards the popular. Rauw Alajandro is a part of a new generation looking to alter the course. It often blended elements from electronic dance music and other styles.
